  • Chat inside KOOTANAH until you feel comfortable.
  • Video or voice chat first if you can.
  • Search their name and photos if something feels off.
  • Meet in a public place, in daylight where possible.
  • Tell a friend or family member where you are going and when you expect to be back.
  • Arrange your own transport there and back.
  • Keep your phone charged and your drink with you.
  • Leave whenever you want to — you never owe anyone your time.

KOOTANAH cannot guarantee another member's identity, intentions or behaviour. Your safety is your decision.

  • Never send money, airtime, gift cards or crypto to someone you met here.
  • Never share banking details, ID numbers or one-time passwords.
  • Be wary of anyone who moves the conversation off KOOTANAH quickly or refuses to meet or video call.

You can block or report any member from their profile or from your chat. Reports are confidential and reviewed by our team. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

A blue tick means our team compared a live selfie to the member's photos. It is not a background check and does not vouch for anyone's character.

Email [SUPPORT EMAIL] and tell us what happened. We read every report.
